It's a mix, but if it's an accepted cultural thing, then you shouldn't generally consider it an exception to the ladder. Though in more touchy cultures, the ladder is a lot less rigorous.

Probably a mix of both. It's an exception in that you can't expect to immediately get in their pants. But you could be further along than you'd be with another race, since Latinos- from what I know- are generally more open and comfortable with shit like that.

I don't pay any attention to the escalation ladder- I just escalate. Just don't consider everything else "unlocked" because that's not gonna be true most of the time. You probably already know that by now.

It's probably somewhat helpful that you are able to get that type of touch once by default, but it's from a frame of it being a social norm greeting, so it doesn't really have that special charge to it of it being sexual. You could maybe linger, or look into her eyes a bit to make it a bit special, but still, I think it's a bit of a "freebie" and you don't get as much sexy credit for it, ya know?

Most girls I know greet with a kiss on the cheek. You make it sound like an XBox achievement or something.

You should be able to tell when and where touching someone will be weird or not. i.e., you should feel the same way about it as the other person does, roughly. This is a part of getting comfortable with someone.
