I had a Tinder date with a pretty hot girl during the day. We only had an hour to meet, because she had to work later, so we decided on coffee. Not going to lie, I was feeling like a huge pussy that day, so I wasn't really flirty or try and make any moves. As a result, the whole interaction with her felt really platonic. In other words, I could tell there wasn't any "chemistry". I think I had plenty of opportunities to get physical or at least make things flirty, but I chickened out. Needless to say, I probably won't be seeing her again.
Lesson learned/reinforced: STOP BEING A PUSSY AND MAKE A MOVE!
Later in the night, I decided to go out and hit up some bars. I haven't gone to a bar in a VERY long time, so needless to say, the idea of going out and hitting on girls in a high-energy environment like that was intimidating. I ran into some girls I know in line, so I stayed and chatted with them for a bit. After going into the popular and crowded bar, I was a little overwhelmed. It took me like 15 minutes of chilling/walking around before I felt more at ease.
I headed towards the rooftop dance floor, and somehow got into a conversation with these Colombian tennis players in line. We were having a nice conversation, so I told them that we should go and hit on girls. One of the guys (the other was with his GF) agreed, so we set out to do that. The first two girls we approached were friendly, but decided to leave after a couple minutes. I felt great in the moment, so I didn't even care. That's when I remembered my failed tinder date from earlier, and realized that I needed to be more aggressive.
The next girls we approached, I made sure to hold onto her hand after shaking it, and get in close. The girl pulled back a little bit, but held onto my hand as we were talking. I could tell that almost immediately, even though the girl didn't seem that interested in me, there was still a much more flirty and intimate vibe between us. They left after a bit, but this was a much more solid interaction than the previous one.
We spotted some other girls near us, and went to talk to them almost immediately. The girl I was talking to wasn't interested at all in me, but I could tell that the other girl that my Colombian wingman was talking to was eyeing me a little bit. She lightly grabbed my wrist to say something to me, and me and my wingman quickly switched girls. I took her hands and pulled her in close. She seemed a tiny bit tense, but otherwise comfortable and interested in our conversation. Before I could escalate more, her group of friends wanted her to leave with them, so I took down her number.
Me and that guy approached a couple more girls, and every time I made sure to get physical quick. I noticed that it was a good way to screen out girls who are/aren't interested. Overall, it was a great fucking time.
Lessons learned:
-Fucking go out. Even if I'm not feeling it at first, that could quickly change as I build momentum in terms of socializing with people
-There's nothing wrong with going out alone. It's crazy how easy it is to meet people basically anywhere. Especially when there's alcohol involved. Everyone's out to have a good time, and if you bring good vibes, you're adding value to people's nights
-Similarly, if you want to talk to someone, do it, whether it's in line, on the dance floor, or somewhere else. You never know what you'll end up getting out of it
-Get physical quick after meeting a girl (obv not in a creepy way). Good way to find out if she's interested in you or not
Bar hopping solo is actually really fucking fun, and a huge step out of my comfort zone. Unlike going out with a group of friends, I'm forced to put myself out there or end up having a shitty night. It's all on me to make or break my night, which actually feels really liberating, as opposed to always having to stick with a group for the night. Looking forward to doing this more.
