Most "coaches"these days emphasize the open with no follow up technique because it's the easiest way to get beginners from level 0 to level 1 and stay there. I mean, the masses in pickup are beginners. Intermediate is kind of in the middle and to get to advanced you have to be in the 2% success rate

I find the 'trends' in PUA fascinating to be honest. It really does interest me how the pendulum swings in terms of consensus.

In my time on forums, blogs etc it's basically gone in order:

1/Mainly indirect game. What you say DOES matter. Loads. in fact, there's even scripts to memorise! ''You can get any girl in bed you want, even if you are hideous if you know what to say and have game''. Show value. Use 'attraction material' like stories and card tricks and negs etc. If you can make her react emotionally, she's yours. Once she shows interest, show it back (never before! Be the chased. Aloof etc) and slowly escalate etc

2/OK, All that 'game' stuff was not really true. Mainly bro-science. Sorry. Mystery could have banged all them girls and faster if he was direct since the girls he banged were girls who basically fancied him. What you say doesn't matter. Here's what game is: Screening!. Open girls, make your intent clear. If she's into you escalate. If she's not, move on. You can't make a girl attracted to you if you're not her type. Looks mainly determine whether you are her type or not. Have hobbies. Make money.

3/ Man, I miss the OLD days of pickup! Direct game only works for handsome dudes.Surely there's more too it than just hitting on girls. Is 'game' really just hitting on girls? Where's the skill?!! I feel like we've gone backwards!! (enter Todd Valentine and a slight resurgance in 'technical game')

Current: Ok, we've largely gone a step back again. The idea of 'game' in terms of saying things in order to make her attracted to you is OUT of fashion again. Nobody believes it. We're back to everyone saying direct game is the only game. SHe knows why you're talking to her if she's hot, so why play games. Makes you look weak. Now, the (confusing) difference between 'current game' and '2' above, is that now people still promote direct game although they also imply that it's not about looks. It's like people now think that the attraction part of 'game' is basically having 'inner game' where you somehow convince yourself that all girls are beneath you through meditation and God knows what else and having this belief is what makes girls want you when you open them (lol)

So '2' was 'be direct. If she thinks you're handsome, you're good'/ Current is 'Be direct. She WILL like you! Just remember that you are the prize. If you get rejected lots your 'game' is shit...although, like, we don't believe in 'game' and thus can't offer practical tips, so.....'

Yeah, the current model seems to be VERY confused lol

My personal belief? A mixture between 1 and 2. People ignore ALL technical game now. Even push-pull etc is often ridiculed by PUA's now. I DO think that she must find you physically attractive for you to have a shot, but that doesn't mean that you can necessarily skate by all the way into the bedroom on looks alone if you have zero game
