Hi everyone,
Last night I randomly stumbled into a really cool thai restaurant / cocktail bar and went to pre game before going out with my friend.
I hit it off with the girl behind the counter (at least I think). We talked for 20 minutes about stuff like travel, life in NYC, etc.
I was going to ask for her number, but then I remembered all the times that i did this and it amounted to nothing. My theory is that girl bartenders get hit on so much that if i asked for her number the 1st time i met her I'd just become one of the random dudes that hits on her.
I left the bar telling her I'd "probably be back soon to have more of your thai liqour". We smiled at each other and I left.
What should my play be from here? I was going to go into the bar again next weekend and ideally she'd be there. Then I'd build more rapport, and get her digits. I feel like with service industry workers I need to play the long game (not too long, I'm not becoming a regular).
What are your guys thoughts?
