Sounds like you telegraphed sexual interest before she did. To her, you're just another guy that has tried to pick her up.

A basic run that I would do is:

Engage the girl you like casually(awesome if she has friends because social acceptance by her peers can go along way in her mind). Remember you're a guy that likes to meet interesting people. Pick something around you to talk about, something light and superficial(key is to be non-threatening and non-sexual). Trade stories (embed DHVs but do it subtlely by not making them a big deal, do this by not caring about their reactions to your awesomeness). Then you're free to start giving her a few IOIs but not trying to "sexually provoke her" but more "hey, you're cool, I like you". That's the attraction stage(exaggerated but meh it's 3am and I can't sleep). Where were you in this when you number closed? Because she could be the type that gives out her number as an ego boost.

What do you mean by "declaring your romantic intentions?" That could be part of the problem, you are asking them to commit too early.

"I have a boyfriend" should be treated like any other shit test, because a lot of times it's exactly that. If she really has a boyfriend and she isn't interested, she won't respond to your escalation and such.

But, if you're getting it a lot, it probably is indicative of problems in your game. Not to say girls never have boyfriends...but, college girls tend to think of boyfriends as a fungible commodity. They're generally happy to trade up (just like college guys are). So, you'll need to be more awesome than average.

Or "So do I."

Or "So do most of my girlfriends."

Or "How is that relevant to anything? I have a bunny."

You get the idea. Make it not a big deal and she will follow your lead.

I'll be that guy. In college I found it easier to bed girls with boyfriends. It was my bread and butter. I mean shit its college after all. If you got the #, there's some interest, call em just to hang, run your game and let it progress.

How about try hang out with someone who isn't top on the attractive scale? I don't mean a dog. But to be honest I wasn't exactly the hottest girl in the sea by far. But i wouldn't say I was a dog. But I actually met my boy online. So maybe even just talking a little bit longer.

You could also ask so "How is the man?" a couple of days before you plan on asking them out. :)

It's okay! All you have to do is act like you don't care, but you actually do! And to show that you need to talk to them about family, favorite colors, favorite anything really. It's easy to get close to girls with boyfriends! I, for one, am friends with a lot of HB[10]'s and boyfriends. ! Hope this helped !!! :)
