It's because they don't want to talk to you. Youre forcing the number. It's like putting a gun to her head and demanding a phone number. You'll get it for sure, but she'll never reply.

Numbers don't mean anything. Don't focus on them. Talk to them, get them laughing, and then invite them to grab a coffee or ice cream with you across the street. If they don't enthusiastically say yes (or offer their info to hang later), you had insufficient attraction. Focus on THAT, not the number.

Honestly that sounds about right. Cold approach numbers are pretty flakey, at least until you get better at establishing rapport quickly. Even then it's pretty hit or miss. Don't be discouraged

The more rapport and time in the conversation, the higher likelihood she messages you back. Of course there's obviously edge cases on both ends like a girl might be attracted to you but she has somewhere to be so you only talk to her for 2 minutes versus a girl doesn't text you back after a 30 minute conversation because she's to shy to leave the conversation even though she isn't interested. I think that's good you are bringing up an activity to do with her, but it honestly sounds like you are just doing it without building any attraction. Give her some better reasons why she should block off time to meet up with a person she only knows for 10 minutes

It's very common situation when girl gives you her number just to ghost you afterwards without a need to go through bitter confrontation. Empathize with that, there may be plenty of reasons not to instantly commit to random stranger. To raise your odds, you should provide more comfort during your brief interaction, trigger some emotions, show off your attractive traits. Give her the space to decide whether she wants it or not. And stay casual, you want to get to know her, you want to spend more time together, want to talk to her more, you don't need to instantly get direct whether she likes you or not.
