I started looking at the hands of the women at my gym.

After a certain age, this is the first thing you look at when you meet a woman. I do the same because I'm 40+ and when I approach women I've developed this reflex of looking at her left hand.

What would be the reason some of them look at my hands?

I have seen that when they look at my hands they ask about my job - but I guess they are looking for a ring, so asking about the job is just a cover.

Many guys approach women at the gym as a challenge, but it is not a good place to approach girls. It is hard, there is no time to talk, and it is not okay for many reasons. They're tired, they're sweaty, you're interrupting their rhythm... it doesn't look good. You can just do it in slices, today a hi, tomorrow a hi and something, then a hi+something+ a very short conversation, but still not okay from my point of view as long as there are other places where it is easier. Or maybe after the gym, the idea is to put yourself in places where it is easier to make an approach, it makes no sense to approach them in such places or approach them while they are in a group - do it as is easier for you and not just do it to prove to someone how good you are.

Women pay attention to wedding rings all the time. We guys are not taught that, but they are taught by their mom, sisters, friends. While it’s a common knowledge for them, it’s like a secret, hidden one for guys.

I think you could interpret anyway you want but it will end up to individual’s purpose anyway. Some wanna take it off just because they know they’ll be sweaty. Some will do it because they wanna send the signal that they’re open.

But one thing I learned that a wedding ring doesn’t mean much. Heck even women more interested in married men. they take it as a challenge and think that if men are taken that means they are high value. The FOMO thing is real (like people tend to buy something a store where there’s a long line or limited edition product). I know for a fact some guys purposely wear a wedding ring on approaching women to subconsciously give impression they are indeed taken/high value.

When a woman checks out your fingers I would say she is thinking on how to proceed. Either she backs off because of the ring, or she approaches you in a different way since she thinks you’re married. You should do the same. If it works for them it works for you too.

They look at your hands to see if some other woman determined you have some merit and tried claiming you.
