I've recently been having the issue of friends popping up out of no where, grabbing the girl and running away with her. Sometimes this happens multiple times with the same girl.
Last night I walked up to a girl who was surrounded by guys and surged my way through to begin talking to her. I became the focus of the group, I talked to them all but mainly asked the girl questions. It was going well and I had her attention more than any other guy did. Suddenly her friend squeezes through and pulls her out of the group. I get that it would look like a threatening situation to her friend, and i commend her for rescuing her friend but nearly 45 minutes later I approach the girl, and her friends to continue the conversation. I chat with all of them, get a few laughs and suddenly the same girl pops up and grabs the girl i'm talking to, but not any of the other girls, and drags her away very suddenly. I stay and chat with the other friend they left behind for a few minutes and the same girl comes back and drags that one off.
I did not do anything offensive or even overly aggressive. Everyone seemed to enjoy the interaction.
Is there some way I could defuse this girls alarming sense of protection over her friends? She was in the second conversation and i tried to chat with her as well but she was super cold the whole time. Like she'd seen me doing something wrong that no one else saw. I tried to ask her about it but she straight up would look away and dismiss my questioning.
I did not see her pull her friends away from any other guy that night, just me.
Is there a way to get over protective girls like this to relax? it's particularly difficult when they refuse to speak with you.
