Hey guys!

I'll cut to the chase. I want to get better at approaching women. But I'm scared. For this reason I started the habit of approaching 1 person a day (because approaching a beautiful woman seemed too hard). I've done this for around ~200 days at this point without breaking my consistency.

I've noticed that to get the courage to talk to attractive girls, I first need to do a few "warmup approaches". I found that the most effective strategy to talk to non-intimidating people like old women/men and just ask for the time/directions, then do the same with attractive women. But I'm stuck at that phase!

To go beyond my minimum requirement I just tell myself "just do 1 more" and my brain will accept it. But anything more than that and I end up doing nothing. I've tried increasing my minimum goal overall, but it broke my consistency and I just felt bad about it.

The problem is that it takes me too long to get those first nerve-wracking approaches out of the way and just the walking and wandering around looking for an "easy opportunity" tires me and I can't get past this warmup phase. I just get tired and in the end I rationalize it with "hey, at least I did the minimum" and go home.

At this point I have the consistency, but I don't feel like I'm progressing when all I do each day is approach people with asking for the time or direcitons, yet my brain resists going further than that...

I've tried ways to trick myself such as the "30 second game" where you approach every 30 seconds, but all it did was put insane pressure on me and I felt bad afterwards, because I couldn't sustain such a pace.

I've also tried approaching for a certain period of time (for say 20 minutes). Pretty much the same result as approaching without the constraint, because it just takes me too long to get the nerve to approach someone.

Right now I've found that for me, I do the most approaches in a day with a rule I made for myself, which is basically "approach at least 1 time whenever you leave the house". It works, but it still takes me forever and building momentum seems impossible...

Any tips are welcome! Thank you!
