I recently started a retail job as a cashier. Since then I have kind of adopted this positive attitude and lots more confidence. Right now this all feels shaky. As if one small thing could cause my confidence and happiness to collapse. Does you eventually become comfortable in your happiness and confidence?

I also work with some pretty beautiful girls. Some are more attractive than others. I think desperation and scarcity also make them more appealing to me. I always get jealous when I see them having fun talking to other guys and I feel I should be the one making them laugh. Am I wrong in thinking this?

Should I try to date co-workers or should I simply try to build friendships?

In the recent weeks I have become somewhat outgoing. I talk to everyone I work with and show a genuine interest in their lives. They rarely return the favor but I dont give a fuck. I still feel like I am doing something wrong though. People truly seem to like me. They go out of their way to talk to me and a few people have told me I am hilarious. I still dont get invited places or even added on facebook. I am not an attractive man and I look younger than I am. What can I do to go from acquaintance to friend? I dont think I am always at fault for not inviting people to do things. I have hinted at it before and they rarely show interest. Out of all the people who seem to like me and many who seem to really like my company I dont get invites to anything.
