Yes, you sound really needy. From what I can tell by what you typed, you seem like you have some unfulfilled emotional needs. You want to be loved, and you want to feel special. You want the approval of cool people.

It's really not about you having trouble making friends or not being able to pick up girls. Friends and girls are really just a side product of your self-esteem. If you have shitty self-esteem (which I assume you do), you're just going to get shitty, uncool friends and shitty girls.

I suggest looking up a book on cultivating healthy self perception. The Six Pillars of Self Esteem by Nathaniel Branden really helped me.

You shouldn't pursue friendships with the goal of using said friends to get girls. It isn't a real friendship and even if it was, guys don't get each other laid.

Try joining sports teams and leagues. You will get exercise, which will help your confidence, and meet new people. Where you live probably has a sports and social club you can join.

And work on the inner game thing too.
