I'm in Venice. And the combination of rich older men, tourists, and arrogance makes my area very competitive. It's like everybody has game. At first, I couldn't even get anything but looks of disgust. Now, I can get in and have mild success, my problem is threading conversation into something continually interesting.

I've played the name game and bantered, but at some point I can't help from just falling back to my "where are you from?" To which it always goes down hill. I can walk up to pretty much anybody and start a converstation and kino along the way (to as many as three chicks at a time), I just fall back though.

I think its because the women around here feel like they don't have to try because there's so much talent and I'm five years younger than most of them. Then I go other places and its like I made their day (smiles galore) because I approached them.

My question is, do you find that clubs and highly competitive locations are that much more difficult?
