I was seeing this girl for about a month and during that time we talked about keeping things casual and that I wasn't looking for anything serious. I told her I was okay with her seeing other people and played things cool for the most part.

We were seeing each other once a week.. then she stopped texting me and being receptive. She does respond when I text her, but the last time I messaged her to hang out, she said she was going to Cali and didn't offer a reschedule.

I haven't talked to her in a couple of weeks and plan to text her next week if she wants to hang out (this will be the last time I ask her out if she says no). If she does say no, I was planning on following up with "Is everything cool between us? I feel like you've been distant. I don't mind giving you space, just let me know."

In the past I feel like I've played things a little too cool to where it comes off as cold. I feel like maybe I could've kept some girls around longer had I pretended not to care so much. My usual go-to strategy is to ask a girl out and if she says no twice then I just stop asking all together. In this case we had been hooking up, so I feel like maybe I should ask if everything is cool between us.

Thoughts?
