How do you keep yourself disease free?

So you're going out and getting laid often? How do you keep yourself from STDs and other diseases? Is just a putting on a condom enough, do you ever go down on a woman the first time? Even if I get sometimes get a chance to take a girl home, the mere thought of STDs is just keeping me away from proceeding. Thanks for your comments.
