That shows a lack of experience with relationships. I bet you haven't known this girl very long. How the fuck do you magically know what sort of relationship you're about to have? That's impossible.

And why the hell does that have any bearing on how soon you have sex with her? It's called sexual insecurity. The sooner you fuck her, the better, ALWAYS. The only way you risk losing her after fucking her is if you mess something up.

Like razqel also said, starting as "friendly" and moving to "romantic" is what everyone did in high school. And shit man, it worked out fine for me plenty of times. But if you want a relationship, don't act like a friend. That's called insecurity (fear of rejection). Get rid of it.

When you take her out on a date, escalate. Keep escalating. Then bring her to your place. As long as it's not super far away, it should be fine. Then I highly recommend that you fuck her- though what can work even better is if you go down on her, and do some fooling around, and then just leave it be so she's practically begging for it. Then make sure to fuck her next time- otherwise there's always a chance she'll think you're a prude or insecure.

"Taking it slow" is a form of ASD that girls successfully use on guys who don't know any better. Guys end up thinking that's what they're supposed to do, and then they wonder how they never get laid. It still can work, but once you're out of high school you should know how to circumvent that shit. Pro-tip: Get her horny. Brad Pitt wouldn't have to take it slow with any girl ever.

If it's you who actually wants to take it slow (but I find that hard to believe since you're a guy), more power to you. Just don't be surprised if that method backfires on you.

Why wait for sex? The way to find out how into it she is is by actually having sex.

The date shouldn't turn from friendly to romantic, it should be romantic/sexual/flirty from very early on. Logistically, there are few compromises for bringing her to your house.
