Social media does affect dating. Having a good social presence will make you more attractive as it acts as a form of social proof. That being said, it's not necessary to be on social media to date. If you don't have a good social presence, then you'll have to compensate for it with good daygame and nightgame skills. In essence, being able to make a good enough connection with girls in person.
