How soon should I set up a second date?

Everyone's different, so really you just have to gauge her interest (which you have seemed to do)

From my experience, generally, if someone is interested then there's really no waiting period of setting up the second date.

If I click with my date, and over all we are both having a great time I will generally be pretty forward with setting up a second date with a "I had a really great time tonight, I don't know about you but I deffinately think we hit it off. I'd love to take you out again" before dropping her off/leaving.

If you had a good time and think she did as well, just ask my dude. If you wait too long, you give the impression you're unsure which in turn makes her unsure. Worst case, she agrees and flakes or doesn't reciprocate the feelings. Then you've avoided wondering/worry any longer and can continue on with life.

As far as what to do on the second date and how you should close it, that again is totally up to you to decide. Just escilate and if she's comfortable with it then you can make the call. Trust me, she will toss out some pretty heavy IOI's.

My vote is wait and let her think about you for a few days, she may even reach out to you first

I always set the second date up at the end of the first date. If she is interested she'll be eager to agree to a second meeting asap. If she says something half-assed like "yeah text me" I would take this as a sign of disinterest and cut contact altogether. In the cases I've had where I cut contact and she was interested she would always eventually text again to start up a convo and express interest in setting up another date.

If she texts you first, invite her over to your place within the next three texts.

it should be set up as soon as you feel comfortable, for me that is shortly after the first date
