So I met this girl at school and it was going really well (got her number and hooked up a bunch of times). For various reasons, I began to really like her. We ended up meeting on Thursday but she seemed distant the whole time and ended up dancing with a guy we had met a few nights earlier. I can handle it if a girl stops responding to my texts or flat out tells me she's not interested, but being strung along like I was hurt, and even though I only knew her for a week, the whole situation has dredged up feelings of self doubt I've been working on eliminating. In the future, I don't feel like going through rough emotions every time a girl decides she's no longer interested. I don't want to feel like I'm sedating myself emotionally in order to protect myself from potential pain, but I don't want to unnecessarily commit myself too early to one girl. What do I do to prevent this from happening again?
