I've had a bad couple days of pickup. Everything seems to be falling out of my mouth wrong, all my approaches feel contrived, and a target I thought I had in the bag backed out on me.

As I was walking past a Starbucks today, I heard a girl telling her girlfriend the line that our entire school of thought is essentially based upon: "Whenever a guy comes a long that is theoretically perfect, I never really care. But I always go crazy over some douchebag!" Complete with the exasperated intonation of her voice and the sigh.

After my bad couple of days, this really struck me. I fancy myself a pretty strong conversationalist. Get me one on one with a girl and I can convey myself in an exciting and engaging manner. However, I'm starting to think that I'm way too nice -- I don't even know how to act like a douchebag without just being plain mean. Its not that I supplicate in any way, I'm just courteous and generally personable.

I know there has been a lot of discussion and debate on this board over whether or not you NEED to be an asshole to get the 9's, etc. I get that you can probably get around it somehow. However, I think its pretty hard to deny that it is primally one of the best ways to get at women. I also think that whether or not you support the Asshole angle, having the ability to pull it off is important, if for no other reason than to increase your understanding of game as a whole.

So, how does someone with decent game but who is far too nice learn to just be a dick?
