Quit thinking so much in your head, engage her and get out of your own skull, you should be focusing on what SHE has to say, HER ideas, and you should be 100% in terms of thinking and speaking. You're not a conversation robot rattling off predefined convo subjects. Its a dance, dynamic and free.

Deal with them by stop worrying about them. Get rid of the mentality that you need to put on a show to impress her - don't forget that she should have interesting things to say as well. Conversation is a two way street.

So if there's an awkward pause, instead of feeling self conscious, revel in it. Hold eye contact and let the tension build up a little. Give her a playful little smirk and ask her what she's thinking, or better yet, make an assumption about what she's thinking (now's a good time to make things sexual).

If you're not comfortable doing that and need something to fall back on just to keep the conversation going, remember that women love to talk, and everyone likes to talk about themselves. So just ask her questions about herself, and look for "conversation branches" in her answer to keep it going.

so i just stand or sit in silence

Look at her, put up a knowing smirk, and wait for her to try to fill the silence. Problem solved. Works every time for me.
