So you’ve started a conversation! What do you do from there? Well, the first thing is to make sure that you don’t ask too many questions. What most new guys do is that they’ll see a woman they like, do some kind of opener, and then ask a series of questions to the woman. Instead of building some type of rapport or connection, they place the entire brunt on the conversation on the woman. It’s almost as if the woman has to do some type of on the spot interview that she might not be ready for and might not want to. Also, by asking a series of questions in a row, any sexual energy or tension is killed. The conversation becomes stale and boring.

Guy: “You’re very cute.”

Woman: “Oh, well thank you.”

Guy: “What’s your name?”

Woman: “Sandra.”

Guy: “What are you doing here?”

Woman: “I’m meeting some friends for coffee.”

Guy: “Where are you from?”

Woman: “I’m from Cincinnati.”

Guy: “Do you shop a lot here?”

Woman: “Sometimes.”

Guy: “Do you like to shop here?”

Woman: “Sorry, I have to go meet my friends. Nice talking to you.”

What you can do is ask a question and then give two or more comments before asking another question. With this method, you simply ask a question, and then give two comments about her response before asking another question. To keep it simple, you can make either two comments about your experience with whatever she says or two comments about not having any experience with what she said. In this next example, imagine that you are visiting the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) campus and you begin talking with a woman.

You: "You're super cute. What's your name?"

Her: *Laughs "Oh thank you. It's Shanna."

You: "Have you had this affect on everyone today or just me?"

Her: *Laughs "Just you."

You: "I don't believe you. I think you get dressed up every day to see how many random strangers you can meet. You're that random stranger meeter I heard about on the news. The one that keeps stopping all the guys at UCLA from getting to their classes."

Her: *Laughs again "Oh my god, who are you?"

Me: "I'm Tony, good to meet you." (Shake hands) Me: "So, how do you like attending school here?"

Her: "It's cool. The people here are nice." (Let's assume she doesn't ask me a question back)

Me: "It seems cool but I'm actually not a student here. Don't tell anybody (whispering). I'm just visiting from that other school across town. You ever been?"

Her: "Oh USC? Yeah, I like it."

Me: "You seem cool. We should hang out sometime." *Pull out phone "What's your number?"

Another example:

Me: "You're super cute. What's your name?"

Her: "Thanks, Lauri."

Me: "Good to meet you Lauri. You have a different look to you. Where are you from?"

Her: "From Texas, born and raised!"

Me: "Yeah! (high five her). I love Texas! I go every year to San Antonio with a group of friends."

Her: "Really? What do you do there?"

Me: "There's this INCREDIBLE spiritual center there that we go to. Are you into that kind of stuff?"

Her: "Yeah, I love that stuff! Have you read (insert author's name)?"

Me: "Oh yeah, of course! You seem super cool, we have to stay in touch."

Her: "For sure. Take down my number."

In that instance I gave my experience with what she said. After you ask a question, you can give more than two comments, but be sure to give at least two so that you avoid an interview type conversation. You can also make comments about what you observe; her dress, nature, eye-color, energy, posture, or attitude. “You have beautiful eyes.” “Your posture sucks. Let’s fix that.” “You have a good vibe to you.” “You have a beautiful smile.” Or you can do cold reads to find out more about the woman; “I bet you care more about other people than you do yourself.” “You probably have a really good outlook on life.” “You don’t seem like the kind of person who gets worked up easily.”

When I was new to doing day-game (day game is where I approach women during the day), I would ask a question, and then count on my fingers two comments to ensure that I made at least two comments before asking another question. I would also time my interactions to see how long they would last. A lot of guys have the habit of ejecting from interactions too early. To avoid this, I would tell myself that I had to keep the interaction going for at least two minutes. Now, this is not possible with every woman, however this is something that should be easy and plausible when talking to a woman that is attracted to you. I have seen so many guys walk away in the middle of an interaction that a woman was into. If that is a problem you’re facing, simply time yourself before approaching a woman and resolve to talk to her longer than you normally would. This is also a great way to kill social anxiety. After a little bit of talking, you’ll begin to relax in the interaction and not be concerned with how long it will last.

Don’t Lean In!

Another common mistake that new guys make primarily in the daytime is that they’ll ask a question, and proceed to lean closer and closer to the woman with each proceeding question. This makes the woman feel very uncomfortable as it looks like you are going to kiss her at some point or just do not understand normal social interactions. I will often see new students do this to a woman. They’ll ask a question and begin to lean forward. The woman will begin to lean back as she answers the question. Then the student, excited that he got some reciprocation, will ask another question and lean even more forward. The woman, will lean back even more. By the third question, the woman usually ends the interaction as it has become too uncomfortable for her. If you lean forward when asking a question, lean back afterwards and allow her to respond. This will give your interactions a very smooth push-pull type feel. You’ll give the interaction a nice flow to it. If you fidget too much during your interactions, simply hook your fingers in your back pockets and lean back as you talk to a woman.

Improv

Another great tool for having smooth conversations is to practice improvisation. Improvisation is simply being able to talk about virtually any topic a person brings up. To get proficient at this skill, grab a timer, set it for one minute, and begin talking about the very next item that you see. Then, repeat this process again with whatever item you see after that. If you would like to practice this skill with a friend, ask them to name a topic and you speak for one minute about that topic. For instance, if your friend says “Sandwiches” you begin to talk about sandwiches; “I love sandwiches. They’re delicious. My favorite sandwich is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. That sandwich is so good. My ex-girlfriend Stacy use to make me peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Man oh man did Stacy have a body! If you like blondes with big tits, Stacy was the woman for you. Amazing body, delicious sandwiches, what more could a guy ask for?”

When doing improv, you can stay on the original subject or you can branch out onto other topics. The main point is to be able to talk for at least one minute. This skill will allow you to avoid having awkward moments of silence when you’re with a woman and will make you a good conversationalist. Also, when doing improv, practice different styles of talking. For example, if you normally talk in a very monotone voice, put some enthusiasm into your speech. If you’re a very high-energy person, practice talking slow and seductive. You want to be able to work both sides of the scale so that you can get the maximum results when interacting with a woman.
