This is a great question. I’m gonna go deep, so brace yourself.

What a lot of guys don’t realize is that when they consciously (and many times this is also subconsciously) decide to play “games”, they also attract a certain type of girl (usually one with her own immaturity issues, no matter how psychically appealing she might be). When you attract crappy girls, you deal with crappy problems.

The best type of girls you can attract are good selectors. They won’t fall for bullshit.

To elevate yourself, you’ve got to drop the games you might be playing. Jealousy ploys, power moves, or trying to act “cooler” than you really are... these are “games” you can play. And they CAN work. 100%. But like I said, they attract the girls who tend to have daddy issues or avoidant/anxious attachment styles.

When you drop that bullshit and CHALLENGE yourself to be more mature about how you attract women, everything changes.

It takes time, but it can be done. Top quality girls (great careers, great personality, great traits, great relationships, healthy, etc) know how to be selective. They can sniff your games.

I challenge you to be self aware. Anytime you catch yourself playing games, stop. Anytime you catch someone playing games with you, lightly call them out and tell them you’re not into that.

Lastly, yes, be “authentic”. Authentic = expressing yourself freely + confidently. This works great. Especially on first dates.

Source: I played games for many many years. It was unconsciously. I always wondered why I attracted girls with some major dysfunctional issue (uber jealous, crazy, unemployed, no friends, etc). The reason why was because I myself was immature and was using “games” as a way to fill in that void I had deep down of feeling unimportant. Fixing this requires elevating yourself and being extremely introspective of why you’re acting the way you’re acting. In my case, I was chasing validation that I was a “hot commodity”.

You choose what "games" you want to play, in the end. If you find it clashes with your identity, interests or values, you can easily just choose not to play.

You don't have enough chicks in your pipeline if you're playing games.

Some guys have nothing to do other than focus on one chick, so they get a text and immediately reply. They flip out over flakes, get suicidal over missed connections. Low status behavior.

Most attractive girls have more going on in their lives than reading their phones. Even when they don't, they want you to think that they do. And anyone they date seriously has to be more important than they are.

So the bad tactical advice has always been to time you texts. Bad tactical advice has been to insult a girl, instead of saying that you are aware of her flaws. In my mind, a lot of the misunderstood tactics are guys not understanding the context... I digress.

An actually cool guy is not replying to a girl's texts until an hour later because he read a book on game, but because he's out with his boys, or better yet a cool group of friends that includes hot girls.

So if you find yourself trying to play silly games, then the problem is not your behavior, it's your life.
