You can try, but most of the time p/p comes up naturally.
If you're going to practice watch situation comedies that involve romance. Friends, How I met Your Mother.
Pick one conversation between a man and a woman, and then pick one line that she says and improvise a push pull.
You will probably never repeat the particular lines that you use in any given instance, but the sort of exercise gets your mind ready to find these patterns.

Can you give an example? I’m still a little iffy on if I grasp the concept as a whole yet

Setting - random bar.
You're in the middle of a conversation with a chick.
Archie - in a serious tone - this might sound a little weird because I usually don't talk politics, but can I ask you a question?
Chica - thinking that the chat is going to get serious - Sure...
Archie - in a serious tone- This is the most important topic right now. I feel that this issue may result in further division in the country.
Make and hold eye contact.
Archie - pineapples on pizza, where do you stand?
The girl will probably laugh and then answer.
Doesn't matter what the answer is, you're going to push away.
Archie - I had such high hopes for you, for us. But now the wedding is off.
The girl should laugh. Maybe she'll go along with it. Depends on how playful she is.
So the pull.
Archie - "But wait, maybe I'm being too rash...".
You can do this with any topic, provided that you aren't dead serious.

Here’s a question for your question: let’s say you remember some p/p shit and it “works” (whatever that means lol). What are you going to do then? What’s after p/p?
What about 30 min after? An hour? Later that night? The next morning? 3 weeks after dating? 3 months after dating?
I ask bc what you’re doing is, as they say “putting a silk hat on a pig”.
Putting on a silk hat of bullshit PUA techniques will always fail an endurance test bc they won’t change who you are and that’s what the problem is, not some missing technique that if you just learned this or that you’d be a winner with women.
Will copying Lebron James’ techniques make you a better ball player if you lack the development and experience? Not one bit.

How do you suppose he gets better MrMemper?
[–]MrMemper 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Drop the bullshit PUA nonsense, make himself a better person. Don’t play to pussy. Shift from wanting to get laid to turning her on mentally but with who you are. This requires getting to know who you are. It takes time. It’s also a solitary road in which no one can help you be you as a man. Sure you can learn certain behaviors but they won’t be genuine. And trust me, a man who is comfortable in his own skin who genuinely expresses his sexual nature in a relaxed way but doesn’t make the interaction about the pussy, gets way more pussy. But at that point you don’t care bc pussy is merely a perk of life, not a goal or a treasure.

For me what worked best was watching Craig Ferguson flirting highlight clips on YouTube before every date. A mixture of seeing how it is done right plus practice worked really well for me.
What you quickly realize is that it has less to do with the canned lines and perfect phrases and has more to do with highlighting your personality. For me, I'm very light hearted, fun, and smile a lot. I play those attributes up. This is important and it goes to OPs point. This is how I am and will always be. So three months from now or three years from now, everything I did will still feel genuine. If not, you are going to get exhausted trying to be someone you're not.
[–]MrMemper 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes. This is what I mean. Craig is just being Craig but maybe with a bit more gas for the camera.

Seriously, if you have to be "memorizing" lines then you really don't get the overall concept. Just be yourself.
Long story short, however you decide to do it, Make it so that SHE is chasing your validation, not the other way around. To achieve this you must be a confident many-to one man that realizes abundance and is not afraid to walk away from attractive women.

Hi, I get the theory on push pull. But I'm confused as to how to practice push pull.
Small point of order: If you're not sure how to put it into practice, then you don't really "get" the theory.
2
Do I like write a couple of push pull lines and memorized them, and then as I am talking to girls use them?
A social interaction is an exchange between two people that requires a little more flexibility than a memorized line can ever provide you.
Situations in real life can vary so wildly that it's actually more efficient to have a guiding principle behind what you say, rather than trying to memorize something for a few hundred thousand different situations.
A few useful guiding principles:
Pay attention and actively listen. Observe everything going on around you.
When opening people, comment or ask a question on what you've observed. Like if someone is studying, ask them what they're studying. If people are talking about XYZ, comment on XYZ.
If you walk up with a canned line, you unintentionally forfeit a huge opportunity by ignoring all the information about the situation and shoehorning a line that probably has nothing to do with what's going on.
A canned line can also unintentionally represent you as someone who doesn't care about what's going on around them, or is oblivious to what's going on.

Note: You're not really talking about push pull here, but rather openers and general conversation.
But overall, the idea behind push pull is that the guy is trying to be playful and isn't being a doormat.
Not being a doormat is about not bending over backwards and trying to kiss everybody's ass. Which is what guys do when they are compliment opening, and in general, acting desperate and thirsty.
Being playful requires good observation, because you can't be playful about a situation you are not paying attention to.
4
I can't seem to think of push pull on top of my head.
This is because you're trying to imagine such a huge myriad of possibilities presented by real life.
You're not unique in having trouble with doing this. No one can really do this and having a game doesn't require it.
5
How did you practice?
Right now? No one should be practicing because everybody is indoors and sheltering in.
But under normal circumstances, there are a lot of different social groups organized behind the idea of people wanting to meet strangers.
It's easy enough to find these social groups and go to a regularly scheduled event, many of which are posted about on platforms like Facebook.

It's really awkward to suddenly introduce push-pull into an interaction. If you want to tease a girl then OK but it has to be something relevant and funny. Don't look for opportunities to tease and "take back". Learn how to listen and observe attentively. If something actually funny or actually relevant occurs to you, then ask your gut if it's necessary to make a comment. Often it isn't necessary, because girls are happy if you're listening and they don't need your smartass putdowns.
Example: she says, "I can't keep up with the course load and no matter how hard I work on assignments the prof gives me shitty grades."
BAD: "You know those tight jeans look really uncomfortable."
OK: "Do you feel a bit dumb that you signed up for that major?"
GOOD: Smile sympathetically or smirk sardonically and say, "Seriously? But you look really smart." Or just nod, or shake your head and say nothing.
Deliberately trying to push-pull is totally uncalibrated. It's a tactic that PUAs who are a bit autistic or ADHD invented to simulate normal, back-and-forth conversation. But anyone one can learn to improve their conversation, mostly by working on eye contact and listening skills.

I can't say I would suggest your examples. The "bad" IS bad, but the "OK" is bad as well. Does she feel a bit DUMB?? Wtf? Lol If a guy said that to me, I would reply with, "No dumber than you must feel after having said that. Now, go work on those lines some more; practice makes perfect."
With your given scenario, I'd go with something like, "Well...MAYBE you're working HARD on the wrong assignments...?" Followed by eye contact & a slightly smirky grin.
[–]smoothmax 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yeah kinda dumb. But I should have said, the vibe you're sharing with the other person is 100x more important than any line you come up with.

Completely agree :)

You're pretty smart ... for a girl.
Oh noooo did I just type that????
[–]JambiChick 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
And YOU'RE pretty funny...for a dick ;) jk
[–]IgotnoideawhatIsay 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The good isn’t much better either. Imo this is a better example and push pull too. ‘Seriously?!?!?! I always thought you were the smartest girl of your class. Cause you definitely look and sound smart. But knowing you’re struggling with this course confirms I’m smarter than you’. The pull is saying she’s smart. The push is jokingly saying you’re smarter.
[–]JambiChick -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lol I guess I can buy that one...IF I was already kinda feeling the guy.
[–]iedaiw 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
jesus christ please forget whatever you read about push pull. its more simple than you imagine
push pull is literally just showing her why you are attractive and conversely letting her show you that she is attractive.
[–]surfinfan21 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's simple in theory but for a lot of guys its all about unwinding years and years of learned behavior.
In its simplest form push pull is no different than how you would tease a girl when you were in kindergarten. As a society, boys have been trained to discard that type of behavior and as a result most of us are terrible at it. Worse we feel uncomfortable doing it.
