Well what helped me become confident was focusing on different aspects of life rather than just one (lifestyle, looks, fear). Confidence comes from how much you invest yourself, so find new ways to invest in yourself. I reccomend finding a few good hobbies, good social group, and increase your physical attractiveness. Hopefully I helped :)

You tend to bounce between these two extremes starting out. Usually you fake it until you make it when practicing dating and seduction skills. This is normal. Continue educating and improving yourself until this knowledge becomes part of you, until you truly understand it and love yourself for all of your wonderful hobbies, quirks, and flaws.

Eventually you develop real, or true confidence. Having to play this balancing act becomes easier and easier, until you are the balance. It takes time. Be patient and constantly objectively critique yourself.

I think genuine confidence comes from knowing yourself and what you're capable of, and that just comes from experience.

For example: the first time I got into a brawl, I was terrified. I had no idea what I was doing or what the other person was going to attempt. But after a few fights, I started getting the hang of it. I learned to control my breathing, to grapple and punch effectively, and how to take a hit without crumpling. I became confident in my skills as a fighter because I'd done it before. So now, when I get into a scuffle, I don't panic. My training and experience take over.

The same thing can be said of anything. Do it enough times and it becomes second nature. And when something is second nature, you're going to be confident about doing it. And if you're confident in enough things, suddenly you start being confident in general -- even with stuff you're not necessarily experienced with. Because you know your quality, and you know what you can accomplish with enough practice and force of will.
