You can't be one-sided and expect to be great at pickup. What are you going to do when you close a girl, ask for her address so you can write her a letter?
You may be against it but times change my friend, and keeping yourself out of the loop, (I hate Facebook and texting as well but I still use both to my advantage) will only, well... Keep you out of the loop.
Now, I'm not telling you to conform and be like everybody else, but you should still take what you can from where you can. You don't need to be a Facebook whore and post a status every 5 minutes about what pathetic thing you're doing at the time, but you can use it for what it's for and stay connected to your friends. (And women.)

This man is right. I have a friend that deactivated his facebook and stopped using his phone because he "didn't need them to maintain his social life" and nobody saw him for months until he got a phone again.
It's okay to not like texting or instant messaging but in this day and age it's necessary to have at least a phone or a facebook account. How else are people supposed to get in contact with you otherwise?

Most people have phones. So many people waste time on facebook.

I'm not going to tell you what to do. If no outside communication works for you then cool. I just know my game would be quite negatively impacted if I cut off communication.

Facebook is a waste of time. I only use it for group messaging and getting a hold of people who's numbers I don't have. But texting is crucial. This is 2014, I hate texting girls too but we live in a time where everyone constantly has their noses in their phones. We gotta adapt.

Texting is a necessary thing, but everyone texts differently.
Some people are kind of clingy with texts, or they get turned off by flat text with correct grammar. Others will get turned off by smily faces and bad grammar in texts. There's no getting around this, you just have to guess what kind of girl you're dealing with and pick out where on the scale between decent english and concise texts with big words, or vague shitty grammar with emoticons and stuff.
That said, given that we're kind of in the age of dating sites and apps, I'm with you. Texting is such an annoying pain in the ass, but if I actually go out and grab a couple of drinks with a girl I do pretty well.

This is my problem with "messaging". I say messaging here because I'm ok with texting but social media sites and insta messaging can get annoying. In my eyes texting/messaging should be use to make plans and catching up with friends who I havent seen in awhile.

Agreed. It varies person to person, how they use messaging though; and it sucks, but there's not much you can do about it.
In my experience with dating sites, if messaging is going on to the point of telling each other our life stories and we haven't gone out and met yet, then things aren't going in the right direction. (I'm not just out for sex either, I want to meet people, then figure out what I might look for in this person.)
Or, with some people I've met in bars and such, if they're texting me too much for general conversation as opposed to making plans to hang out, that's just as bad, and I'm likely going to stop hanging out with them.

These things that you hate (email, instant messenger, text, even facebook) are ways that people today keep track of and contact each other and are social. Being this out of touch (not social in today's society) and hating these things (any normal things, really) are 2 big red flags (DLVs), and will be to women. Comparing yourselves to others too much is a third DLV that I'm seeing here...it runs along the lines of being not confident or being needy.
Work out your hate issues. Maybe therapy? That much negativity isn't going to help your game. Comparing yourselves to others is an inner game issue--it isn't facebook's fault.

My phone game is terrible, I don't like the fact that emotions and body language can't be seen
I actually agree with you. Why waste time talking through a screen when you could just pick up the phone, man up, call the girl, and meet her face to face, like human beings do.
If she doesn't want to hang out, great, you've gotten yourself out of a time-sink. If she does want to hang out, great, you've got the potential of interacting and connecting with another human being.
Also, face-to-face you are going to make mistakes, say stupid stuff, and your date will do the same thing, and this is only human.

Keep it available for viral communication. Just because you have it, it doesn't mean you need to use it every waking moment
