A little bit of background. I’m 22, and have been going to clubs occasionally for the last couple of years. Most of the time I just stick with my friends, we drink, dance awkwardly for a couple of hours, and then leave. I’ve been approached a couple of times, but I don’t approach, probably because the first two times I did when I was 18 (and extremely skinny and awkward) I got shot down. Even though I’m now much more physically fit and outgoing, that insecurity is still there.

Anyway, last night I went out with a new group of guys and so danced on my own a lot more. After a while I noticed quite a few different girls started hovering near me. Like I would go to another side of the club and they would appear about a foot away not long after. At one point one of the more attractive ones just walked up and stood there facing me. But she didn’t dance or move. She didn’t look at me too, so I took that as a sign that she wasn’t interested. After a minute she left without saying a word. So my question is, what was I supposed to do? I mean, I was dancing like crazy and they were just standing still. I had no idea if they were into me or not and so had no idea how to engage without coming off as creepy. This is really eating me up, and any advice would be much appreciated.
