My latest example, chatting up a particularly cute hb7 I ran in to about our interest in human rights. I kept her laughing and smiling at me when my trip to africa this year came up. I'm going overseas with a peacecorpeish group to (As I put it, quite pleased with myself) "Going overseas to build houses for poor little niggers somewhere."

I understand and understood fully the ramifications of saying something along those lines to a girl who would react negatively, but knowing I meant it not negatively and that THAT specifially was how I wanted to put it that's how I had to put it.

My brother raised me on a steady diet of punk rock and philosophy and I can't help but believe I did the right thing, as saying it how I wanted to was more important to me than getting her number. But I percieve this as an obvious flaw, the wording of a single sentence refusing me a certain amount of pleasure. Has anybody else dealt with this or have any advice or insight on the matter?
