I'm assuming the OP is an attractive woman looking to be more approachable. If so this would be an exelent question for F-PUA

1. Too Attractive Many very hot woman are seen as unapproachable and even find themselves lonely, even if they take initiative the man could be intimidated and stumble When approaching start with simple conversation and questions. He may think "its a trap", be genuine and friendly and give the guy some time to realize your genuine. Dress down for the venue, hair and makeup included. Remember body language follows mental state; exude friendly girl next door.

2. Miserable/resting bitchface focus on having fun, pay attention to internal state and the resulting body language. Never the reverse and men will be naturally more comfortable approaching

3. friends If you can have fun solo that will make you more approachable, otherwise be out with 2 other friends. This way a guy will know your more likely to break away, as your friends can occupy each other Are your friends cock blocking you or themselves being unapproachable. The man needs to approach the "set" not just you.

4. To Agressive/Masculine I general we are conditioned/evolved to expect that men are to be assertive and initiate and woman are to be passive/receptive. It may not be fair but it has its place in cis gendered dynamics and attraction and shouldn't be overlooked.

The question is do you find women intimidating? Who cares what other men think...most men think it's rude not to buy a girl a drink but buying a girl a drink is probably the worst thing you can do when you first meet her.

I've never heard a man say this.

The only time I've heard it is from women who are trying to feel better about not being approached by men or failing to keep them interested. It's right up there with "they only bully you because they're jealous."
