Condoms will pretty much have you covered when it comes to penetrative sex.
I think the biggest concern is diseases that can be transferred orally. I saw a commercial that claimed these were becoming progressively more common. Whether that's true or not I have no idea.

HERPES is not prevented by condoms. They reduce the risk by only about 30%. The base of the skin and all else around is up for grabs

HSV1(cold sores) is the one you can get from kissing which most people have already(dormant) and appears around the mouth. HSV2(general herpes) is less common and usually inhabits the genital region. Two separate types that like different areas of the body. Around 15% of the population carries genital herpes but 90% don’t realize it leading to the stigma

Wearing a condom and filtering who you sleep with. Conservative girls can still have it since it can be transferred with just one encounter wearing a condom, but more partners she has chances obviously go up. Although it can transfer asymptomatic it’s not likely and much more common to transfer with a visible outbreak so a quick inspection of the equipment before taking a ride certainly helps.

That's what scares me, it doesn't matter whether how many partners a girl has had or how sexually adventurous she is. And you can't expect them to warn you that they have it because often they don't even know. It just seems like the only way to truly stay safe is abstinence, which I really hate to acknowledge. Plus condoms don't really help with kissing/oral/handjobs/fingering.

Well only oral you could risk getting hsv2 and it’s not likely. I spent 3 months last year thinking I had hsv2 after a visual misdiagnoses, when I finally started to accept it I got tested and turned out didn’t have it. Definitely scary at first but most people get over it and it doesn’t bother them in life. Poses practically no health risks. Definitely would rather take a good sex life than worry about it, but also never barebacking randoms again.

My middle and high school had abstinence only as their teaching method. They basically told us what stds are and that the only way to guarantee not getting one is to never have sex. I asked my health teacher why they don’t teach anything about condoms and his response was “I would lose my job if I told you to wear a condom”.

My high school sex ed teacher introduced himself to the class as a "born again virgin." He said he only had sex one time and immensely regretted it and regained his virginity by repenting for his mistake and saving others through his sexual education work. As a teenager you just accept things as they are, but looking back as an adult, I have a real problem with this. He enforced the abstinence only policy as well.

Really sucks that some schools still teach like that. My middle School teacher wasn't good at sex ed, but my high school biology teacher was amazing, and actually taught me a bunch of very useful stuff

Condoms will take care of you usually but there are some STIs that just need skin contact. Luckily most STIs can be cured, though there are forms that cannot.
Kids are sometimes vaccinated against HPV, which is very common to get. If you did not get the vaccination you still can. I know it may be odd to ask your parents about it, but you are almost an adult. At your age, if you do not have the vaccination, you will get 3 shots in 6 month interverals.
If you are having heterosexual sex only, you still have a risk of HIV, but if you happen to have sex with men always use condoms but you can take PReP or discovy too which would make your chances of getting HIV nearly impossible.
However you would need to research the side effects. I think that discovy is better with less harmful side effects.
You can get this too if you are 100% heterosexual but at your age you probably don't need it.
Just use condoms, don't be afraid to ask partners questions. If they can't discuss their sex life with you, that is stupid because you are about to have sex. Mostly girls will be afraid of being slut slammed. Don't do that.
I don't know where you live but once you are 18, you can get free HiV and STD screenings near you. Where, go to the gay areas because a lot of them, if you live in a pretty liberal place, will provide that or know where to point you and also usually provide free condoms.

No there isn't. There are STD's that currently do not have a cure. Human Papillomavirus, hepatitus, HIV, and a few others cannot be cured. However, medication is available to manage the symptoms.

Not at all, but it's by far the most common one present today. You can get anything from Herpes to HIV through oral sex, but in my experience? HPV is the most common std out there.
I thought HIV wasn't transferred orally, which is why they say you can still kiss people with AIDS? I thought I was well informed on STDs, but it seems like the risks are even worse than I thought...
So is oral sex with cling wrap/condoms on the only preventative here? Because that sounds really weird and I wasn't aware that people really did that.

While oral sex carries a low risk, low risk does not equal no risk. No, no they're not the only ones. Dental Dams are also used, you can also cut open a condom. But the principle remains the same in each escenario. Putting a barrier between your mouth and someone elses sex organ.

Correct. First off you should probably use the females number, given I'm assuming op wanted to fuck girls. Numbers still agree that there's less than 1000 cases per 1000 girls. Then if you remove girls under 15 and over 29, which I'd guess is the age range of op you get a rate of over 3000 per 100000. Then take into account the fact that a girl who is more likely to fuck op is more likely to fuck in general and therefore also has a higher chance of having Chlamydia, and the fact that these numbers are on a yearly basis and the chances are decent I'd say
