Two of the richest men I know (and I know some fantastically rich people) have had horrible luck landing decent women. Because they have no game.

One of them went to a PUA workshop, which was a bit of an embarrassment, and began learning game a couple of years ago. Last time I saw him, he was doing much better, though still having a hard time. Having tens of millions of dollars, and a significant stake in several early stage companies that will eventually make him worth hundreds of millions (his net worth has quadrupled since I met him), doesn't get this guy laid. And it doesn't get quality women in his life.

There is a certain level of wealth (or fame) you would need to be able to date/marry someone famous; so, a guy making 50k/year is never going to date Jessica Alba. But, you're not going to date Jessica Alba even if you make tens of millions, so don't sweat it.

The truth is, money is only a proxy for attractive traits, and if you actually have those attractive traits, you'll do better with women than if you just have the money. Being rich doesn't hurt, but it certainly doesn't help as much as popular wisdom would indicate.

Learn from the experience of older guys who've been there, done that. I'm not poor...far from it, in fact. But, money isn't how I get girls...and, in fact, I avoid talking about money, because I don't want girls who want me for my money. I intentionally look poorer than I am, in fact. I tend to hang out with artists and slackers who make no money, I live in low-rent neighborhoods (or as low-rent as you can be and still be close to interesting stuff), and I don't dress particularly nicely. I don't own a car. I get far more girls today, by far, than I did when I drove a nice sports car, had an office downtown, owned a house, and dressed nicely every day.

Look, here's the thing: as others have said, confidence and having fun is a big component of getting a #-close, k-close, f-close, etc. Money certainly can help with that, if you're a millionaire you will be confident and will be able to have fun (i.e. buying drinks for everybody, etc.) without having to worry about money.

However, don't think that women will just flock to you the minute you get that paper. You still have to go out, meet people, approach people etc. Rejection is part of the process, don't be afraid of it. Strengthen your inner game, get buff and go out. By solely "focusing on you career" you are not addressing the problem you had in the first place; not being able to approach.

Do you think everybody who closes here on seddit is loaded? Of course not. Don't avoid approaching just because you are afraid of failing. Take baby steps and try out whatever techniques you think might work. In the long run it will help you in other areas of your career, such as work or with family and friends. A lot of the stuff you learn here isn't just simply for dating. It's general psychological things that are applicable everywhere. Try them!

You are fixating on wealth because you don't have much. You're believing the grass is greener over there.

It's not. I was poor as a younger man, and have become wealthy. I do alright, but becoming wealthy hasn't made me do any more "alright" than I did before.

One of the male archetypes that women are attracted to is the provider role. It just means they will be getting their fun and excitement elsewhere. Sure having money can't hurt, but it's not going to get girls to like you anymore, if you don't work on your own skills with women they will just be using you for the money.
