Non-hostile AMOGs?

How do I deal with situations like this?

Befriend him, become like him, or both.

If you're not the social leader, befriend him.

If he's a territorial douche, become the social leader that you want to be - get more friends, host more events, meet more people, etc.

In most cases, the guy isn't as douchey as you might expect.

Thing is, he might seem that way if he perceives you to be a hanger on. You have to present value to all of your social interactions - not just with women. He might seem cold to you because you might not have a lot to talk about and offer in a social setting - if you did, you'd be sitting right next to him, doubling the amount of panties you two are having thrown at you.

As a guy who is very much a social leader in my circles, it's very boring when a guy who has little to offer latches onto me socially. I try to be polite most of the time, and even work on some of these guys, but even as an extrovert, interacting with a guy who latches onto you to get attention from others is exhausting at best, and unbearable at worst.

This is tough and can backfire if done poorly. My strategy with meeting people that i don't know well, especially when there is already a social hierarchy, is to engage people one-on-one and get them to talk about themselves.

If you engage one-on-one, you are not trying to steal the guys thunder and are thus no threat to him. You are also not hitting on the people you are talking to, just being friendly. People love talking about themselves, so by doing this there is less chance that they will stop talking with you just to hear what the AMOG has to say (which will happen if you're boring).

Given that you are new to the group, you just have to establish you are friendly with one person you don't know very well. This will likely intrigue at least one more person. When you notice that they are interested in what you have to say, engage them too. Ask them about their job, shirt, or something they might have overheard. Try to keep the original person involved too so that you build a small circle. If they choose to talk to someone else, no big deal.

Eventually, you demonstrate to the new group you are interested in what they have to say, which will make them curious about you. When you have their curiosity, it would be rude of the AMOG to talk over you. Don't steal all the spotlight from him or he will see you as a threat. Engage him in a friendly way and you will have gained the approval of the AMOG and, thus, the group.

What I usually do is start a one on one conversation with one of the quiet people in the group. If your conversation with that person gets interesting enough other people will join in on the conversation. Your group well then start growing on size until it eventually absorbs the old AMOG at a lower social level. You are now the AMOG with your choice of women amongst the group

I read somewhere about something an advanced guy did. I think it was an rsd instructor or something, don't remember but he was good. He would say, thats cool bro, or whats up bro, to guys. He would frame them as bro's in a kind of negative light to the girl. The power of suggestion is scary, once she has the idea that they are a tool she will look for signs that they really are and ignore signs that would suggest them being otherwise.

You can also suggest to the girl that a guy is a tool or something negative like that if the guy steps away or something. Its all good stuff to try and pretty unconfrontational as well
