I am not a pro by any means but I feel proficient with apps like Tinder. The problem with online dating is that it is the easiest way to approach girls as all you have to do is swipe right on the toilet. A lot of (needy) men are swiping like crazy for that reason as real life approaches are way way scarier. Some actual profile tips then:

Photos are super important. Save every picture of yourself where you look good on. Also go back into you holiday pictures. With todays high quality cameras it is super easy to create an amazing headshot/bodyshot from some distant shot with some simple cropping. Fotos that do not initially look usefull can become amazing tinder pics with the most simple editing.
As a bio I prefer something short and fun that is about you. A stereotypical joke about your favorite hobby for example. A good bio can win you some matches but a bad bio can lose you a LOT of matches. No bio is better than a bad one.
Turn all notifications off. It makes you way less needy if you just respond on you're time.

Messaging is a whole different beast. Girls are super flaky as they can choose from so many (potential) matches, just get used to it. It is important to understand that I never went on a date from tinder or a similar app when the girl was not responding interested from the first message. So actual texting tips:

don't use to many emoticons!
Don't waste to much time on the first message. Sometimes you spend an hour to come up with something original and then never get a responds (or something like a haha). All you want to do is screen with you're first 2 or 3 messages who is actually interested in meeting and then spend more time on texting them. Spend a minute max if you can say something original about there profile and in other cases I used 'Name!' as first message. If a girl is interested she will respond anyway no matter what. Being original to every girl is way to time consuming!!
Most guys are delusional that with perfect texting you can get any girl from Tinder! You can't, period, don't try to.
By now you should be texting girls that are interesting so it is a simple step to ask them on a date. End the topic you are having a conversation about in a natural way (not forcefull) and say something like 'I think we should get drinks this week'. The timing is were you would normally switch topics. If she responds well get her number and move on from there.
Another way to ask the date is less direct. You give the idea of some date idea but don't directly ask her on the date and see how she responds. You could for example ask if she has any skills hitting balls with golfsticks. See how she responds and ask her later on some driving range golf date. This one is a little harder as you have to get a little creative but wine and candles are so romantic so I don't know how it is a bad date idea

Yeah I asked a friend who is female about that situation. She told me she generally wants to get to know the person through text for a few days before going on a date. So from her perspective, guys should spend a lot of time on each match. From my experience whenever I tried to get a date with a girl asap to get to know them in person it didn't work very well. idk, it is pretty flaky. I try to get advice from females because when I get advice from guy friends it hasn't worked.
