So as the topic title suggests.

I have now been through about 250 approaches and since I have restarted since Covid, I feel my AA going away again.

Now here's my problem :-

Having a conversation that makes her buy into me, invest in me in some way or just be interested to move onto a next date or so. Differentiating between platonic boring topics vs interesting.

Examples of how I structure an approach and where I am FINALLY hitting plateaus/roadblocks :-

1) Name exchange.

2) What do you do? Where are you coming from? What are you up to, where are you off to? (sort of platonic less emotionally charged topics still)

3) What do you do for fun or what have you been doing over covid to kill boredom?

4) I most of the times get into what I do for a living (fitness and life coaching) show her some of my work on IG or something.

5) I try and close from here saying I gtg but how about grabbing a coffee together or checking out some falls or trails where we live (it' a place known for scenic beauty)

The rejection usually comes in at this point and I'm assuming that she's not emotionally invested and bought in.

I am now trying to get her to laugh a little bit here and there wherever I can to get her emotionally charged up but it's not available at every single opportunity so it's a variable.

How do I take the conversation from being purely platonic and bland to having her look at me as a potential partner and that she wishes to go out on a date to explore etc.

I can talk about the deepest of topics and my experiences across a lot of different fields/interests etc but none of them are very apt for a first time conversation you have with someone on the street.

Examples of 2 recent approaches that even went well but then I obviously didn't end up getting enough of a hook/attractionn to take it further :-

1) Did the approach, spoke, she was smiling laughing, engaging inn convo and everything, we even discussed some books she was reading, I then proceeded to ask what she's doing to kill boredom during covid, and then asked her to a walk, she came back with no but it was logistical because apparently she doesn't like being outdoors/in nature lol.

Then I asked her if she knows her schedule and we can just do the cliched coffee and she said she'll think about it and get back to me etc.

2) Did approach, found out she's from my uni. Spoke about the program, even made her laugh with a random jjoke which she really enjoyed. Asked her about her later plans and when they were ending so to speak and if she wanted to join for a coffee date again. Not gonna lie I don't know why I fucked this up so bad, because apparently I asked her the same question like twice or thrice about where she's from and what she's doing nowadays. And obviously that made me seem like a bit of a moron and like I'm no listening. The whole point was I was just trying to make conversation and I couldn't really figure out what topic to talk about that wouldn't just be another statistical topic or platonic but rather something would get her to be engaged.

So finally I guess I cannot tell what topics to talk about or what is it that I should be doing to get the girl to get emotionally invested or interested to pursue an actual date from there on out.
