I'm also studying CS and it's also my 4th year, been doing pickup since I joined... And oh man, the experiences I've had... It is very very very worth it bro. Seriously, college campus is the paradise for pickup and I suggest you take these opportunities while you still can.

Yup, just do it. Pickup doesn't have to look like pickup. Just be one of those people who strike up a lot of conversations (if a small campus or doing it in a highly visible area rapidfire, talk to guys as well - it all goes to getting you socially warmed up, which is when the magic happens).

Tl;Dr. Go to courses you're not enrolled in that have beautiful women and talk to as many as you can during the semester.

I'm also a Computer Science major in at university. I'm in my 3rd year. I know your struggle in regards to lack of women in the CS major. Just remember that that is not your only avenue for finding women.

I'm doing a bit of a mixed degree, BCom in Computer science and Information Systems. What I have observed is that there are a lot more women in the business stream (and I'm sure a lot more in the philosophy, arts, and humanities faculties,) then in the Science faculty. If you're not comfortable approaching women just randomly walking around campus, which I understand can be hard, you should go to classes that you are interested in but not enrolled in. I really doubt that the women will ask if you're in that course and even if they ask something related, like "how did the test go", I'm sure they wouldn't be discouraged if you told them that you always were interested in taking philosophy, for example, but your CS major didn't allow it. I would suggest not bringing this up unless you have to otherwise they may get annoyed that you're distracting them from a course that you don't have to do well in (although that's just a guess.) I know that when I would chat to girls that I had met from my course it was really easy to talk to them and they were all really nice about it. Be aware of the environment and situation. If she is trying to concentrate let her, but if she's enjoying the conversation or the lecturer isn't talking then go at it and chat.

Last year I was taking a 1st year course in philosophy, and oh my God! The amount of beautiful women was astounding. I made a rule to have a full on conversation with an attractive women everyday. Everyday, as I walked into the lecture venue I would quickly scan the room for an attractive women that I hadn't met, sit directly next to her and start a conversation a few minutes before class started. This completely eliminated my approach anxiety for a while, then I stopped approaching girls when I got sick with flu and the approach anxiety came back. Either way it was a great experience feeling that confident and I would definitely suggest trying it. Apparently this one girl went up to my friend and asked if he knew me because she liked me. I waited too long before asking my friend to point her out, about a month, and he forgot who it was when I finally asked.
