Talking to girl at the dog park, we're the only ones there.

She's ultra super fine. I'm talking to her about her dog and whatever but her body language is pointed right at me hardcore. Legs crossed at me, eye contact, smiling, talkative etc. Could be cause it's just us I guess

She fills gaps in the convo, makes some compliments how I mentioned her shirt as we were talking, my knowledge about dogs.

She says she tried to get her dog to swim but hasn't had luck. I invite her to go over to the river by the park and see if our dogs will go and swim. She obliges.

So we leave the dog park area and she keeps filling in gaps in the convo and following me to the river nearby.

We get there but a guy is fishing so I say I know another area the dogs can go, down the path a bit. We walk 5 minutes to there and our dogs go to the water and start exploring. I sit down by the bank and she sits kinda next to me. The whole time I'm keeping the convo about the dogs and ask some typical questions about her but nothing escalating. She would reciprocate and ask me questions too.

I tease her very lightly but this chick is more aloof than I am. At some points I was even thinking like damn she's so hot but kinda eh on the personality. My first time actively screening a hot chick. I decide I'm going to number close though as experience at least.

We walk back to the parking area, and I say I got to go but I know a cool spot we can take our dogs and ask if she'd like to come with me at a later date.

"Yeah. But wait, where is it?" I kinda felt like this was some resistance as if she's like I don't even know this guy and I've just been following him around for 20 minutes

I explain where it is and that it's a popular spot for walking dogs.

Anyway, get her number and instantly text her my name without saying anything about that. Ask her schedule

"I'm pretty open right now." Good sign

"Hmmm, I usually take my dog out there on Saturday afternoons"

"Well I was talking to a friend about going out of town for the holiday weekend." I forgot it's a holiday here in the states this weekend

So I kinda look to the side like I'm thinking about my schedule and she goes "But I'm not sure if that's happening cause that was like a week ago that I was talking to my friend. I can let you know if I'm available."

My instinct was too decline the "maybe date" but I second guess that she's being genuine and trying to make herself available to my suggestion

I say "you know what, you're right. I forgot about the holiday I'm going to need to check my schedule when I get home"

Honestly shit kinda falls apart here cause of the uncertainty of scheduling. I was depending on setting the date in person to skip texting bullshit. Also, I thought about saying "I texted you my number, let me know if you're free" but I decline that as EVERY TIME I put the decision on the chick they lose attraction or ghost. Kinda 101 stuff

I go super vague, and I start losing frame cause her attractiveness is intimidating me ngl

"Hm well I'll hit you up and we'll get something going. Bye (name)"

That's not exactly what I said but it was shitty like that. I notice also she was standing kinda differently at this point, kinda sassy with one hand on her hip just looking at me, or studying me subconsciously. I feel I could've at least side hugged her but your boy bitched out.

I didn't "show intent" (call her cute), didn't touch her or anything and the close was weak. This is only the second time I've had a girl come and hang out longer than the initial contact so I'm still learning this territory. Plus she's the hottest chick I've talked to so far in this regard so I was a little intimidated. But honestly 3 months ago I would've just got her number without progressing the interaction to what it turned into.

Kinda flakey. But it's funny how getting numbers turned into "not enough" and now having a random chick hang out with me is "not enough." Stay hungry I guess. So the wolf roams.
