In terms of age, I think it depends on what the women are looking for. Some women are looking for an older man or need that kind of vibe. Some may think that you're in a different place in your life than they are by being 26 and not 23, which might scare them off. If you're 23 and they think you're a 26 year old player, it seems like they may think that you're trying to scam on younger ladies like a creepy older guy. You didn't give many details, so I could be totally off on this analysis.

I always make girls guess my age if it comes up and they always guess older. I take it as a compliment to the way I dress, my level of confidence, and my social aptitude. I believe that they guess older not because of my looks, but because in their experience, only men a few years older than me have these characteristics.

I've been asked a few times if I was a player, or if I did this sort of thing a lot and I usually just respond by saying I love meeting new and interesting people.

My favorite one was a pick up was where I was talking to a girl for like 10 minutes and my friends wanted to go to another bar, I told her to meet us there later if she wanted and just kissed her without any build up or lines or whatever. I started leaving and she chased me down to have us exchange numbers. After kissing again quickly and starting to leave again she said, sort of nervously, "You're too good at this..." She ended up bringing her whole group of like 6 girls to come meet me and my friends an hour later.

Always take these comments as compliments, and be confident. I'm not a real outgoing goofy guy by nature, so I don't usually ham things up with the "I'm the biggest player you've probably ever met" kinda stuff. I just smile and shrug my shoulders when they say something like that. Just stay consistent with who you are.

IME maturity is attractive, and seems to correlate with better game. Women are attracted to older men because of this, you remind them more of father and authority figures in their lives and as a result they fall into your frame easier.

About that player thingy.. If a girl says something like that just follow the formula: agree and amplify. IMO it is a good thing because it makes you interesting. Think about it, would a girl rather meet someone who can't handle girls well or someone who is confident and is good with girls?

Most of the time girls think that I'm older too (I'm 22) and I haven't really encountered a problem with that, because I don't think it is one. Still, since I approach any girl which is not clearly too old (like 30 or so), I have noticed that some that are older don't like it that I'm much younger, so what do I do? First I joke around and tell them some totally irrational age (like 16 or 33, whatever), and then I say that I'm 24, which they then always believe. This of course depends on the girl as well, you shouldn't always do that and only if she is significantly older than you..

Last weekend I did this with a 26 year old girl and it went smoothly at first. I fucked up later, but that's another story.

I... don't think it really matters. I've had women think I am 20 and I have had them think I am 35, all depending on hair length and facial hair. Never thought much of it, apart from the time when I was asked for an ID at a store because I was buying a bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape. It took 20 minutes and two duty managers for me to be allowed to leave the store with my bottle. What kind of an under-age person even buys Chateauneuf du Pape? But, anyway, I digress... as I said, I wouldn't pay it any mind and just keep on being whatever it is you are.

I think you handled the statement about being a player well. Just brushing it off is good or even flat out lying can be good. When girls say this to me I just tell them "no, it's not like that at all" or something and then escalate the kino to a higher level at that moment. They know you're a player, you know you're a player and they know you're lying, but they like it.

In my experience it's better not to bring up age and just say it if asked instead of the whole guessing thing. Most people are rather irrationally biased by age, but it's usually either neutral or negative, so there are few advantages to drawing attention to it.

edit: i.e. let them think what they want, if they ask, don't dodge it, makes you look self-conscious.
