Quick question about when to text a girl I just met.

Just call and chat with no expectations for a few minutes, ask about her day or if she told the other day about something she was going to do, bring that up (how did "that thing you were telling me about" go) or some simple stuff like that. after a few minutes tell her you were planning on staying in tonight and ask if she'd like to come by, don't make it seem like it's for her though, tell her you are taking a trip in a week or 2 and are trying to save money, thats why tonight is a stay in kind of night. That simple structure has yet to fail, u may not get laid, but you will def spark some interest. hope that helps

TL;DR: no text conversation with girls. Call her and keep it light and breezy.

I think you should let one thing lead to another. Try to be nice and move forward gentle. You can't expect to reach second base in one night if you are wishing for some serious chances, maybe not even first base. My reccomendation is that you Text her and ask a lot of common things like what she does and similar stuff. Then move onwards to your point; meeting her again, ask her about her plans for the evening. Ask if she wanna hang out and watch a Movie! Hype the movie a lot, say that your friends love it, but pick a bad movie. I would suggest some really boring movie which could give you a chance to talk a bit during the movie. (sorry for my bad English btw, And Good Luck mate! )

TL;DR, Ask about day, ask about evening, suggest watching movie, take it slow and easy, Profit.

emmalcolm speaks the truth. Text messages lack context. Texts are better if you're chatting it up with someone over a long period of time. It's possible that by calling her you might take her out of her element as well (what if every guy she's ever talked to initiated by texting, you'd def. be differentiating yourself). I myself attempt to be crafty when replying to texts and I expect the chick to do the same. The message is def. a ioi.

I'm going to have to go against what most people are saying this thread as far as calling and don't text. In this day and age, calling is a little formal for someone you recently met. And texting should have two goals in mind. Build rapport and set up a date. Don't beat around the bush and ask her out after teasing her slightly. Don't drag it out.

I was listening to something today about this exactly. Send her a text message asking her to meet sometime during the week (not the weekend). Three different venues possibly if you can, with the last being close to home if you want to bring her home. The mind doesn't have a great perception of time, and she'll remember you went to three different places which would be pseudo three different dates.

Throughout the evening make subtle hints that there is a reason to go back to your place (e.g. an awesome stamp collection she should see or your awesome guitar-who cares). It should be at night, assuming you want to escalate toward something sexual.

If you wanna date a girl, it's wrong to say: "Let's go on a date", because it's to much commitment for her. You should convey her, that you're a very busy guy and that you have some things to do in the city and if she is free, you could meet after you solved your problems. If you don't seem pushy and show her, that it's not a big deal if she doesn't come, she will come. You should convey her, that you are a busy person and she should take advantage of your less time.
