I prefer to name a specific time and date, and if they are busy, make them name a replacement.

Rather than, “let’s hang out next weekend,” make it, “Dinner, 7:30 PM, Italian restaurant off main.”

When I ask any girl out on a date, I generally name a time/date and place. More of a “I’m going to be here if you’d like to join me.” type of thing. I always work it around something that I’m actually going to be doing so it really has 0 impact on my day if they show or not.

For example: on Sundays I tend to go a car meet in the morning and visit a coffee shop afterwards to edit pictures I took or plan out my week, so I’ll set the date a few days beforehand

“Let’s get coffee I know this really nice spot by the river they have smoothies too, How’s Sunday 11:00AM?”

or

“Would love to take you out for coffee, I’ll be at x coffee shop at 11:00AM if you’d like to join me.”

I’m going to be there regardless so why not invite them. I use either one of these pretty often, it helps take pressure off from both sides I feel.

Generally if she just says, oh I work that day or some excuse and doesn’t offer a replacement day or something along those lines she’s not that interested to begin with.

But in my personal experience so far I’ve had responses like:

“I can’t do Sunday I work but I’m free X day!” “Would love that!” etc.

Depending on how far out you schedule the date, you always always always ALWAYS need to text/call and confirm you’re still both going to meet up.

So many people schedule a date 2+ days out and don’t follow up to let the other person know they’re serious and they’re not going to flake and also to remind them.

People are busy and forget stuff all the time. And also people are so used to people flaking or ghosting especially during the early dating stages that they generally don’t take a scheduled date serious unless it’s the same or next day.

Yeah never ask “when are you free” I just tell them when I’m free and if it works for her.
