I'll try to keep this short, but I need some help.

I'm usually pretty good at talking to girls, especially those I at least know somewhat. I saw a girl I've known for about 2 years out last weekend and got her number. Long story short I asked her out and we went on a date last night.

We went to dinner and then back to her place. We watched a movie and drank, ultimately we ended up messing around and I stayed at her place.

We both said that we had a good time, but the biggest issue I have is texting. I become too overly attached the idea of a girl being into me and find it necessary to text them too much. Throughout the day today, she's texted me and I've said some ill-advised things about how I couldn't stop thinking about her. She hasn't responded to these comments, but continues to text me back.

My question: how do I recover from texting stupid things like this and possibly seeming needy? I'm definitely into this girl, and we hit it off really well last night. I want to see her again as soon as possible, so what should my timeline be here?
