Hey seddit!

Lurker here, and I have been rejected today.

Here's the story. I'm in my senior year of high school and have a crush on this girl for awhile. We've never spoken, but we have a mutual friend. The mutual friend has told me how she's interested in me, and has complimented me on one of my features. I thought okay, lets give it a shot.

Out of the blue, our mutual friend creates a facebook chat group with the 3 of us. Me, him, and her. It was extremely weird for me, and she went ahead and complimented me right from the bat. I added her on facebook, and invited her to a convo. We talk for awhile, and I believe things are going pretty well (hard to tell from text, would've rather done this in person, but couldn't let this slip). I end off with "hey, I have to help my family out with something", and she says bye. I follow with "maybe we could text or something, mind if I get your number?".

No reply.

So, I'm taking the hint that I have been rejected. I know dating is entirely a numbers game, and you're bound to hit if you swing enough times. I don't usually talk to many girls, so this is the first time I've been rejected. I'm sure you are all more experienced in both sides of the game.

I've read the sidebar links for tips, but man, they're all for in-real-life situations, and I hate to say this was just over facebook. But hey, the opportunity was there and I had to take it.

Anyway, seddit, you guys have anything I should know? It's going to be pretty weird seeing her in the halls now (don't know if she now thinks I'm creepy, or not her type, or whatever). Yeah.

EDIT/UPDATE: Got her number. Lesson here is to be confident, let her know what you want, and go after it.
