Should I approach or am I misreading the situation?

I’m not a conventionally attractive guy, maybe a 6/10. But I’ve noticed different types of women out in public who make prolonged eye contact with me. Some of them I’ve looked at first, some have looked at me first. It’s not every woman who does this but it happens enough that I’ve noticed it. This happens when I’m in bars or out shopping or running errands.

Should I approach these women? The last thing I want to do is creep any woman out. I’m conflicted as on one hand I believe these women are showing me they may be open to me approaching them and on the other hand I think they may just be looking me in the eye for no big reason. Do women do this to get men to approach them?

Some of these women are way out of my “league” and I don’t want to misinterpret anything and get humiliated. When they’re looking at me in the eye I feel comfortable enough to approach and I suspect they they want me to approach them. Their faces seem like they’re acknowledging me while they’re staring. I am not a conventionally good looking dude, but I’m fairly confident. I don’t know why these women are looking me in the eye for so long. I’m not super experienced in dating so I’m not sure if I’m overthinking this or not.

Should I approach these women? Are they checking me out?
