Should I pay for the first date?

Pay for it. In my opinion if you were the one who asked her out you should pay.

I'm no expert dude but cinema dates are rather terrible unless you already know them well. You don't get a good opportunity to talk to each other. I would maybe offer to get some drinks at a bar afterwards so you can actually chat, or evven meet up early at a cafe or something.

edit: unless she absolutely insists to pay her share, like if she says it >3 times and is stern about it. It's better not to fight. Make a joke out of it and say "well sucks for you you're missing out on a free movie"

The person who organizes the date should pay, but if she doesn't offer, that's a big red flag in my eyes. Same way if she pays but you don't offer, big red flag.

I'd just pay. Provider is more like when you take her to a really expensive dinner to signal you'd make a good provider. Cinema not a great first date, btw.

The one who invites is the one who pays. Not just with women, but with anyone. The same I'd do with any close friend of mine.

What I did whenever the woman wanted to pay her share is turn the situation into a projection.

"Haha, don't worry about it, we'll have quite a few more opportunities for you to return the favor."

This way, you don't make a big deal out of it, you remain gentle but firm on your stance, and you project the image that this is not the last date you guys are dating.

If she then makes a big deal out of this, unless you enjoy pointless drama, you may wish to reassess why you went for her in the first place.

Pay when you ask. You're the one with a penis right? Be the man. If she keeps insisting on paying then tell her that she can plan a date and take you out and pay another time, but you took her out tonight so you're paying. If she still insists after that, then let her pay but then don't go out with her again as she's probably some kind of feminist or at least confused by their propaganda.

Any woman who is trying to undermind your role as the man in the relationship is just going to result in her not being attracted to you. Women are attracted to men so the less you act like one the less attracted to you she will be. Of course one thing isn't necessarily going to make or break the attraction, but odds are if she doesn't understand this aspect of male/female dynamic then she also doesn't understand many other aspects of it as well.
