Want to share a personal small victory with you all

Earlier I approached a girl at the gym and asked her out straight away. She responded "I have a boyfriend" line and I excused myself promptly and got out of there.

Yeah I could have stayed longer and fought my corner, she was receptive and at least gave me her name. Now with hindsight I could have followed up with like "take my number in case you change your mind / for your girlfriends". At the time my mind was already blank and I was dying to get away.

I'm still going to take this as a small victory and confidence boost though. I talked myself out of it twice but then made sure I stopped thinking and just did. From my sample size of one, it isn't complicated to approach them and I didn't creep her out (she thanked me for coming over), so just gotta do it!

I'll make longer conversation next time.

TL;DR: approached a girl, rejected, but feel better because now I'll know how to be better next time
