I've been here for some time, and I've been getting out a lot, but I have some very specific issues.

  1. I get extremely nervous in certain approach situations. Generally, if we're not sitting down, in a quiet place (like a bookstore or park), or in a situation where social interaction is entirely expected (and desired) I'll chicken out. I'm not sure why, but it seems a thousand times more difficult to start a conversation with anyone that is standing or walking. Any ideas on how to deal with this?

  2. I have no idea how to DHV. I've done some reading, and like I said, I've been getting out, but I just can't get DHVing. Can someone explain this to me in a less cryptic and more blunt way than I've heard/read it before?

The frustrating this is I've accidentally gotten past these problems before, and once I get past them I do alright. I just can't figure out how to keep doing what I did.
