How many times throughout your life have you shyed away from a risk in order to preserve some kind of internal image of perfection? maybe it's the avoidance of the embarassment you might feel from having a kiss swerved or the embarassment of how you might look going to the gym for the first time. Whatever it is, it comes from presevation of the ego, you are seeking a perfect outcome so you can maintain your ego.
Something done poorly is still something done. Even if you are the worst of the worst when it comes to women, to the point that if you approach a girl the interaction will crash and burn in spectacular embarasment. You still approached her. You still did something, an approach is an approach, it's at least one thing you have under your belt that you didn't have before. It's like running a mile, you could run it in 7 minutes or 15 minutes it doesn't matter, a mile is a mile whether you do it poorly or exellently. The exercise was done and progress was made. When you first start lifting at the gym, your form normally sucks and you aren't really doing real sets yet, atleast not to the effeciency you will after some time. If you just started doing squats you are likely not doing them properly but a squat is a damn squat, weight was moved, muscle was torn and progress was made.
This is the same with women, it really doesn't matter if the interaction blows up in your face or if it goes perfectly. This is the mindset I want you guys to adopt, stop worrying about the outcome and just do something. Go talk to a girl in person and in public, try kissing a girl you are interested in, ask a girl on a date in person, tell the girl you like what you really think of her in person and face to face.
Look, when I first started this I was awful, every single interaction was a trainwreck at the start since I had zero social skills due to locking myself in my room for most of my childhood. If I had gone through this journey with the aim of protecting my ego and maintaining an image of perfection, I wouldn't have done shit. I had one goal and that was to take action, if I did that during a night I was over the moon and the outcome didn't matter to me. The result was that I just kept trying and like with anything repetition led to mastery.
You can try to wriggle your away around these initial steps, like a real face to face approach, initiating a kiss an so on but you will not make any progress. You must accept the possibility that you will be rejected, that she will swerve your kiss, that she won't like you back and still find fulfillment in making progress towards your goals regardless.
This is already a long post but I want to append something on to the end of this. This mindset will propel you to success that you never knew possible, you will go out and do the things you have always wanted to do because you will take more enjoyement from the act of doing instead of the outcome.
