So I was in another subreddit and we were talking about the FZ, my brother once when giving me advice back when I was like 15yo told me this that I’m always going to remember “You send yourself to the FriendZone, girls don’t”.

The problem that a lot of us find is that a lot of times after talking to someone for a couple weeks we tell them about what we feel and we get “I saw you as a friend”. The reason why this happens is because you sold yourself as a friend, see this from a marketing perspective; You have a liquid soap, is it’s meant to be car washing soap, but you keep trying to sell it in the kitchen cleaning aisle, the people who buy it are gonna be “Ups, this is not what I expected”. In this case YOU are the soap, you need to let your intentions be known, preferably subtly at the beginning but make sure you DO show your intentions.

Something that has worked for me is a friendly approach exploiting a mutual interest and then I compliment them like “you looked really pretty today “, you’ll show yourself like someone she can have a chat with but also you’re showing your interest.

Something that is really important also is to see their response to your approach, if you feel like they change the subject on you then that’s a bad sign and probably that person isn’t interested, maybe not yet maybe not at all. By their feedback you’ll know if you’re heading in the correct direction.
