Hey boys.

Last weekend I was out and a girl in the set I was opening said to me "You're short." And yeah, I am short. I'm like, 5 feet, 6 inches tall. The way she said it almost took me aback, like it was a challenge.

I could have said something snotty or acted like I didn't hear, but instead, I said in a voice loud enough for everyone to hear: "Well, I've got two out of the three--dark and handsome. Nobody's perfect." The bitchy look melted off her face as she smiled, looked me up and down, and responded with "Yeah, I guess you're right." and I continued with the set.

Later in the night, another girl commented on my height. This usually almost never happens, and I know that I'm short, but I was actually surprised that two chicks had brought it up in the same night. This girl, who wasn't good looking, said it this time with an intention to piss me off. The last one was a challenge, a shit test--but this was said with a mean intention.

I could have lowered myself to her level and made a snarky comment about her own looks but I'm above that, so all I said as I nodded my head was "Yup. Good thing it hasn't stopped me from achieving anything. Enjoying your drink?" I said it strongly and with conviction. She looked away and the girls in the set I was in smiled at me and held off laughs. I laughed with them, too--I stayed in frame and made myself look confident doing it.

This is what staying in frame is all about, fellas. Keeping your cool under a situation where you can bomb out and look like a total jackass or worse--weak. I didn't think before I acted, the words just came out. This is something everyone should work on. Not having canned responses to situations that might make you uncomfortable, but having an attitude that will set you above those circumstances.

Develop a mindset that will bring you above your own limiting factors (whether they be height, looks, weight, etc.) so you can almost make them 'invisible'--no one is going to care if you're short or a bit chunky if you're a cool-headed alpha. Trust me on that one.
