I am finding it a challenge to find good spots to meet interesting women. I live in a suburb in texas.

It is a long drive to downtown to go to a concert or nightclub, then I still have to deal with parking, cover, and so on. its also a unfamiliar enviroment. ETA: feminine sounding or popular music brings more girls than say, your local heavy metal band. Also, classy nightclubs on a busy night is better...I've been to places with awful, just awful male to female ratios.

A cheaper option is to seek out all the house parties or free art events, or meetup.com. at least with house parties its a bit easier, at least for me, to talk to new people - its expected.

I don't think there are many great local places to meet women. As in, ten minutes drive and less. It seems like mall and city center are for high school girls. ETA: This is in contrast to reports of what I have heard about places like New York: you could literally go down certain streets and approach because they're packed with women.

Could anyone relate? ETA: Should I suck it up and bite the costs of nightclubs, or find other options?
