Imagine a gigachad who speaks with a lisp, and how he would perceive interactions with women.

Now, I'm not a gigachad or even a chad, and I don't speak with a lisp. But that's sort of the exaggerated version of my experience. Trying to figure it out.

I get long eye contact from like 80% of the women I'm attracted to. Easy to get positive body language from them -- if I sit down near them at the airport they reorient their seating position towards me, etc. In situations where it isn't appropriate to speak (libraries, etc) I get extended flirty behavior. Women follow me around the gym.

But once I start speaking to them, my success rate drops pretty fast. Like, in a matter of seconds.

I don't have a speech impediment like a lisp, so I'm not sure if it's my voice, my speaking style, or (less likely) what I'm saying. I don't have a deep/low voice, but it isn't high-pitched either. Vocular says my voice is similar to Johnny Depp and Robert Downy Jr. No accent (live in the US, grew up here).

Any ideas on how to come up with and test hypotheses? Starting with whether or not it's my voice.

I'm old enough that nightclubs aren't an option anymore, but I prefer daygame anyways and really hate trying to talk in places (including bars) where the music is too loud to do that easily.

Edit: I should add that I can afford and have been considering vocal chord testosterone injection (by a surgeon, not crazy enough to try that myself). But before I take that leap I'd like to figure out if it's worth the risks.
