The key for me has always been keep texting at a bare minimum and only use it as a way to set up in person meetings. All that get to know ya chit chat can be had in person while getting drinks. If you have to talk I’d rather call or FaceTime. It’s more intimate and harder to be placed on the back burner.

The people who say “match with a girl on tinder and immediately ask her out” are delusional.

The girl has no clue who you are, she has no clue if you are a murderer or a rapist, she doesn’t even know if it’s worth meeting up with you yet, so asking her straight away “hey let’s go out tomorrow at 7pm to chill at my place and watch some netflix” is just ridiculous.

I’m not saying that if you are super mega attractive it can work, but for the vast majority of people, this advice is simply ridiculous and doesn’t work.

And, I know you should not be a text buddy but things aren’t black and white.

You need a little bit of getting to know each other over texts before you ask a stranger out. And that doesn’t mean that you now dedicate your entire life to texting her 24/7… It just means you try to see if you vibe first.

When you text you need to think of creating emotions to get her attention and being playful, fun.

You: “Fuck i’m in trouble now” (You do this to spark curiosity which is an emotion)
Her: “What? Why?”
You: “Cuz, i just showed your profile to my mum, and she says I should marry you… Da heck do i do now?” (You say a humorous thing to spark laughter and joy, which are also positive emotions)
Her: Oh hahaha, well I think we would first need to get to know each other.
You: “Too late! You are my wife now, how are we gonna name our kids?” (Another texts that causes laughter, aka another emotion)
Her: I don’t know, you got any ideas for names?”
You: Well if he is a boy… Spider-man. If she is a girl you choose (more emotions and also you begin establishing a connection with her)
Her: Haha ok, mmm, wonder woman•
You: “Oh boy, we are gonna be the mightiest family in the galaxy!

You keep going until it naturally leads into a date proposition.

Couple of flirty texts, and then tell her “i dont like texting, we should meet up for drinks, but only if you wear something cute tho ;)” and arrange the date. Watch Todd V video called “Texting 101”.

Use texting for arranging meetups only. Save the hour long texting for your girlfriend (even then i wouldnt recommend it). Dating apps have a lot of attention whores and they will text you and then ghost you once they feel validated. Not always but most cases 🤷‍♂️

Texting is great for “I’m running late” or “pick up a can of dog food on your way home” messages. Not to carry a conversation for hours! Fuck that!!

You can see my post in this subreddit for more details, but I had a lot of success by not engaging in "text game".

Instead, I would just ask matches right away if they would like to go on a date/grab a drink. You'll be surprised by how many women respond "I'd love to!"

If your texting isn't that great, get their number and either call them asap or set up a meet. If they matched with you then they liked something about you so the faster you get their number the less time there is for the conversation to run dry
